Set-Dressing Suite is designed for big locations assemblies and effortles work between SOPs, LOPs and Octane Standalone.
Included HDAs:
Inspired by the powerful layout workflows of Clarisse iFX, this tool streamlines Assets layout work (eg. Megascans) in Houdini through efficient instancing and intuitive shortcuts—reducing hundreds of manual clicks to just a few.
Beyond its fast and artist-friendly interface, the tool offers seamless one-click export to Solaris. It automatically recognizes Megascans folder hierarchies and applies appropriate shaders during the handoff, removing the need for manual setup.
As part of our Octane Standalone–centric pipeline, the tool also supports dual point cloud export modes:
Switch modes depending on the asset type.

The ‘Scatter Tool’ addresses a core part of CG workflows—scattering. While standard Houdini point cloud generators are flexible, they are designed to be built upon, often requiring time-consuming setup.
To accelerate environment creation, we developed the Scatter Tool, which combines a wide range of advanced techniques under the hood. Achieving natural, organic-looking scatters—with refined control over distribution and appearance—is easier than ever.
Most importantly, like the ‘Layout Tool’, it automatically optimizes scattered content in the background. Once you’re happy with the result, a single click sends everything to Solaris, generating a complete, Octane-friendly node network. If you’re using Megascans, the tool also exports the correct shading setup, fully ready for rendering.

The Pointcloud Baker is purpose-built for our Octane Standalone–centric pipeline. It processes incoming point data, conforms transforms into an Octane-friendly format, and writes them as CSV files ready for use with Octane’s scatter nodes.
While CSV is not an ideal container for high-volume transform data, this tool mitigates performance bottlenecks by leveraging Hython to parallelize the string-writing process—making even point clouds with tens of millions of points manageable and exportable.
Until Octane Standalone supports a more efficient point container format, this remains the fastest and most robust method to export complex layouts and scatter data for production use.
