Designed to keep your workflow lean and your renders efficient, the Optimization Tools focus on eliminating unnecessary overhead across both CPU and GPU pipelines. These behind-the-scenes utilities help you make the most of your system resources—ensuring smoother performance without sacrificing visual quality.
Whether you're preparing assets for lookdev, layout, or final rendering, this suite is built to quietly support your process, so you can focus on creativity—not computation.
The ‘Aux Geometry’ node is a processing tool that performs the first stage of optimization before scattering. Once the layout is complete, geometry intersections are often unavoidable. This results in scattered points appearing inside geometry, which is both inefficient and undesirable.
The Aux Processor resolves these issues by removing intersections and generating a unified, clean surface suitable for scattering.
Additionally, it outputs useful versions of the geometry—such as a watertight SDF VDB, which can be used as a collider for FLIP simulations or as a data source for various other operations.
To further optimize the scene, the ‘Camera Frustum’ node ensures that resources are only used where they matter most.
Camera frustum culling is a well-known technique for masking out areas that fall outside of the camera’s field of view. This tool automates the process and evaluates the entire animated frame range, not just the current frame.
To take optimization even further, the node can also consider direct line of sight, excluding areas that are obscured by other geometry and not directly visible to the camera.
'Camera Frustum. Apply' node opens up additional feature that helps you post-produce the masks by blurring, fading, ramping and so on.
This is a very powerful tool, despite its simplicity. Often, incoming assets are managed and structured in the ways that don't necessary fit our own workflows. Like Speedtree models, for example, with all their complexity. That complexity, unnecessarily translates into lookdev and shading. Paths Manager helps taking incoming structural string attributes, and without destroying them, overwrite, group and manage your own paths assigment.
